Welcome to LoganBerry

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. We're a different kind of farm here at LoganBerry, and we hope you'll take the time to get to know us and become a member of our wonderful community.

Our Southern Appalachian Heritage Farm has been in the same Turner Family since 1828, encompassing five generations of farmers. Before that, the Cherokee called it home. In 2007, Sharon Turner Mauney (aka Organic Rose) was privileged to come into stewardship of this special place, with the goal of “saving the family farm” by preserving its agricultural heritage, protecting it from development and keeping it a productive Farm today, as well as for future generations.

Therefore, our mission is to recognize our History, embrace Sustainable Stewardship, and grow Health.

Farm News

The Harvest is in, the fields are resting and the life on the Farm is starting to slow down. Sometimes we take for granted the gifts we have been given and this is the season to voice our gratitude for the beauty of this area, the freedom to pursue our dreams, the bounty the land gives back.

I find that as time moves along, the more gratitude that I acknowledge and express, the more blessings received.

Everyone asks what's going on with the Farm in our "off" season. I just smile and wonder what an 'off season' is. Example: today was cleaning and packaging seeds for 2012, working on website updates, caring for Cattle and Chickens, feeding the fire, feeding ourselves, working on planting calendars for 2012, planning early Greenhouse plantings for Onions and Leeks, enjoying the rain (even tho it makes the ground 'rotten', as the old folks used to say, planning where to plant more flowers and daffodils and just enjoying the busyness of LoganBerry. And the Birds and Cats make it special........come by for a visit if you have time. We'll always have something good to eat.

Every person who visits LoganBerry, whether it be for produce, fellowship or curiosity, is a blessing that I am thankful for. I look forward to next season and renewing old friendship and making new ones.

Don't forget to visit us on Facebook to view photos of other great farm events!

Happy Gardening!
